Thursday’s West Kirkpatrick Street Update

The view from Hunter and West Kirkpatrick Streets.

Construction crews have laid new curbs on either side of West Kirkpatrick Street and have moved to the most labor-intensive part of the project. Railroad tracks once crossed the street near its intersection with Hunter Street. Beginning this morning, the crews are digging deep to remove the section of pavement that covered that area, as well as the old tracks that lie beneath.

This means that West Kirkpatrick Street is completely inaccessible from North Geddes Street for the near future. Detours are posted, but we recommend approaching our building from the Van Rennselaer Street intersection.

The Chapter office and Kirkpatrick Day Program are open and operational. We ask that you call in advance of any appointments so that we can update you on any additional closures. Day Program families and transportation services should continue to use our building’s rear entrance off of the main parking lot.
